Client: Mrs Tilly’s Confectionery
Campaign: Positioning of news and ongoing media relations
Tilly Confectionery, the award winning confectionery company based in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire approached Mhairi Clarke with a view to engaging the media during an exciting period of growth.
Tilly Confectionery was started when Peter and Elisabeth Paterson recognised a gap in the market for producing traditional, good quality Scottish confectionery, free from artificial additives and preservatives.
With an expanding customer base and contracts to supply multiples such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Somerfield and a range of tourist attractions all over Scotland and new contracts to export to the Middle East and Europe, the company was experiencing an exciting period of growth and Mhairi Clarke was approached with a brief to help position news to the media and engage public support for the company’s plans to secure a larger factory site within the area.
Objectives
The objectives of the campaign were to:
- Control and manage the messages to the media and the public around the company growth and in securing a site for a new factory build
- Engage the local media and facilitate the establishment of a relationship between Tilly Confectionery to obtain positive PR for the future.
The campaign
Mhairi Clarke PR works on an ad hoc basis with the company to position and disseminate news stories as and when required.
Results
Mhairi has been successful in engaging the local media and Tilly Confectionery has received coverage in trade press and each of the local newspapers in the area.
